Baby Furniture

We finally started to add furniture to her room today! This morning we picked up the rocking chair and it's really cute! It totally matches the room.

Her closet is filling up with all these cute clothes and I haven't done any shopping for her yet. The only thing I bought for her in the closet are baby clothes hangers. I'm afraid to start shopping for her because then I won't be able to stop. Only 60 some more days till she arrives and we're soooo excited to meet her!

Feeling Bigger and Bigger

So I had a fantastic weekend with the baby shower and Ben's parents visiting. I was absolutely soooo exhausted by all the activities even though we didn't do much on Sunday and Monday. We had a low key birthday for Ben on Monday. He didn't want any fuss or anything grand...which is what we gave him.

I'm feeling really pregnant! Yes, I know I am but I'm really beginning to feel a bit more like a big old pregnant lady with all the "fun" side effects. My back hurts like crazy if I am walking for more than 20 minutes... I was shopping on Monday and was totally exhausted 30 minutes into the day. Wow, that's a first for me...so how sad. My feet hurt now and I can't believe that I'm admitting to it but I think they're getting bigger! I was in complete denial but I bought I pair of 5.5 shoes on Sunday and I think they're snug! Keep in mind that I wear a 5.0 and usually have to buy a 5.5 and pad them since my real size is rare to find. Well now I don't need those shoe pads anymore... Oh I hope my feet shrink back or else my hundreds of pairs of shoes will be sadly neglected. While I was in the fitting room on Sunday, I noticed how large my belly has gotten and how frumpy I look now. Before I could get away with a pony tail, a tee and a pair of jeans at the mall but when you pair that with a big old belly, I think instant frumpiness occurs. So long to being cute..... I think I need to actually really put in extra effort to look decent when I go out. Oh I need a haircut...my hairdresser is on vacation in Europe right now!

Oh one more thing, can I say how needy I've become? Not including restless and impatient? Poor Ben. While he's juggling school and work he also has to listen to me mope around the house. I don't really feel like myself these days though! I also think the insomnia is starting...no matter how much I try to nap during the day I can't! I'm super restless and impatient. Okay, enough complaining, I'm going to plant my butt in front of the tv now.

Good Times!

Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday for our baby shower! It was so much fun and so great to see friends again. It was an afternoon filled with food and laughs! Can you guess that it was supposed to be a Hawaiian theme?

What luau themed party wouldn't be complete without a roast pig? This was a small pig too! I could only imagine what the regular size piggy would have looked like. It's the year of the Golden Pig! This pig took up half the banquet table.

Ben participated in the "guess what flavor baby food" game and I don't think he liked what he ate...food ranged from squash to lasagna. Gross! The winner of the game was Catherine which of course is NO suprise, she's a MOMMY!!!

Second event of the day, the "sippy cup chugging while you're spinning" game. It was hilarious! The sippy cups were filled with apple juice. The winner was Andy! Hmmm....that tells you something... where did he get the sippy skills???

My mom and dad playing the "guess what the baby ate" game. I can't believe how involved our parents were on guessing the excrements in those diapers! Sora won that round and funny thing, she's as thin as a stick and who knew she had all that chocolate knowledge?? By the way, she's a pharmacist and I guess maybe her expertise in chemical compounds helped her out. I still think she's a secret chocolate addict.

The players in the final game of the day, "dress to impress." Teams of two, a guy (the model) and the gal (the stylist), had to dress to impress for a babysitting interview with Ben and I. Of course the men had to strut their stuff down the catwalk too, showing off their trendy designs. Andy won again with the help of Nicole's creativity. Funny, his baby was the only one that was secure AND he had on pants! The guys had guts for sure!

Sora and Steve with their plastic baby!

Tito and his band of triplets!

All the gals from Mervs! From the left, Alicia, Kate, me, Jessica, Leona, Christine, Cynthia (with Nati), and Catherine. What a fantastic group of ladies and life isn't the same anymore now that I don't see them everyday. I miss them all terribly!

My incredible little sister Cindy who helped make this day possible. If anyone needs help in party planning or painting a room, drop her a line!!!! Thanks for all the gifts we received and our little girl will definetely be the best dressed! She's not even here yet and her closet is amazing!

The Hunt for Big Mama Clothes

Okay, I have officially entered maternity clothing hell. I can no longer wear my belly band over my normal clothes! So the past two weekends I've been to the mall probably 4 times (which of course isn't so much fun for Ben) looking for something that fits well. GAP clothes are totally not proportionate and the sizes are just way too big, especially pants! Tops are easy but pants are a whole other world. It's like I not only need to grow my belly but my booty too. GAP's fit models must have some big booties! After GAP and Old Navy, there's always Motherhood Maternity but wow, can we say cheap clothes that really reflect the word "cheap." Again, they believe that maternity clothes are just BIG clothes! This brings me to the last store that I found which saved my life. A Pea in the Pod! I can't believe their selection of denim! I finally found denim that fit me well and are totally stylish too. I picked up a pair of Sevens crops (above) and a pair of AG jeans. It was so nice finally to have found clothes that fit well. I'm sticking to that store for bottoms and that's that!

Stuff I Picked Up Last Week

Last week I went and got a Snoogle pillow. I had started to have some trouble sleeping because of back pain. I have always had lower back pain but ever since my belly has gotten bigger, it has caused more problems. Now I have this constant ache all the time and it gets worse when I'm doing stuff around the house, like cleaning. Last weekend I was cleaning up a storm and pushed myself to the limit where it hurt so badly I had Ben go get me a new pillow. I did some research online and had read nothing but good reviews on the Snoogle pillow so I figured I might as well try it. It's great! Ben played around with it and he thought it was really comfortable too. I also rented a baby doppler from Baby Beats online and it arrived on Monday. It's really cool to be able to hear the baby's heartbeat whenever I want to. It's super easy to use and I monitor her whenever she moves around. It's not expensive and we're renting it for just 3 months but the peace of mind it provides is amazing. Sometimes I freak out because she stops moving but now I know she's ok. The funny part is, she moves around a lot! When she's not sleeping, she's doing karate or something...well Ben did want her take karate lessons so I guess she's a natural!

I Hate Doing This But Oh Well...

My friend Jessica really really wanted to see a pic of my belly. I had been taking pictures of it on and off, not in any consistent fashion because it just takes so much work! I mean, to really accurately track my belly growth, I would have to take the picture every x amount of weeks and then wear the same outfit. Not to mention when during the day I should take it since eating would skew the picture and the belly. I have noticed my belly grow significantly in the last 3 months. I always wear black! So maybe in this picture it's a lot smaller than it really is. From behind, I've been told that I don't even look pregnant so I guess that's a good thing.

Baby Room Part 3

Okay, I'm going to admit that I'm insanely biased but wow, our baby room looks SOOO good that it belongs in a magazine! This isn't even the finished product yet! Ben and I put up the wallpaper border today and it was a little tough but the result was absolutely awesome. Ben says that the room looks like a piece of cake, literally looks like dessert. It's such a beautiful room! Talk about gender neutral. I swear, watching all those hours of HGTV really pays off! We still have a few pieces of furniture to pick up and some wall decorations to hang. I'm still contemplating on doing window treatments but somehow I managed to have the colors match our blinds without even thinking about it. This room is GORGEOUS!
