At Home With Ozzie

Today I think was one of the first days since I have been on maternity leave that I have felt like I'm really at home. The last few weeks have been really busy for me preparing last minute items for the baby. So I think I was actually a little bored today! Poor Ozzie got the brunt of my boredness as I took a bunch of pictures of him just being his lazy dog self. I don't know if he cares that I'm home with him all day now but I do know that every hour or so, he comes to wherever I am to check up on me.

I played dress up with him...he's my little "gypsy lady." He probably thinks this is sooooo embarressing...
Look at this cutie!! I'm in denial and do not want to take him to the groomers just yet... I'm going to let him get super scruffy!

He is sooo happy in this picture! He takes naps with me during the day. He usually takes his naps underneath the dining room table but ever since I've been home, I take him with me when I take naps and he just hangs out and falls asleep. I totally understand that he might feel a little neglected when the baby arrives but he will always be my first baby and we're going to try SUPER hard to not make him feel left out.

Jess & Lexy's Visit

It was great having Jessica and Lexy visit me today! Lexy is growing up so well and she's gorgeous! I don't think there has ever been a happier baby. Jess and Robert are doing a fabulous job raising their little girl!

This is Lexy sitting on her portable booster seat after she's had her meal. She's really cute with her sippy cup! The sippy cup is really sturdy and it never even bust open after she's dropped it a few times. If she did, I might have had purple carpet! Lexy also helped out with identifying areas that we need to baby proof. She can fit in anywhere and find anything! She actually managed to squeeze in between our tv and bookcase. The she found a few things in the house I didn't even know I had. Thanks Lexy for helping out! I know what I'll be doing the next few weeks!
Jessica and Lexy post meal time... Lexy is a supermodel already. She always knows where to look when you pull out a camera.

A funny thing that Lexy does with her face is to scrunch it up whenever she's thinking or trying to do something. It's sooo cute! Oh and I fed her entire meal to her today and she was a hungry little monster! After every bite, she kept looking at me and giving me the "hungry face."

Almost Complete!

I'm so excited that the baby room is almost done! The major items and baby necessities are all purchased and ready but the decorative items for the walls are still missing. I'm waiting till after she's here to finish the walls and photos. Her room looks amazing! All the colors came together really well and even though the white on the furniture varies from piece to piece, I still think it looks great. Nothing like saving a little money here and there.

I love her dresser! This was the piece that Ben and I repainted from a dresser that we had from our old bedroom set. The bookcase came from my parents house in Morgan Hill and it's really really old! Hey, it beats spending another $80 or so for a new bookcase! I got a set of 3 wicker baskets from Babies R Us and filled them with her diaper changing stuff. I'm starting her book collection too... I can't believe how expensive children's books are these days. My mom donated all of mine which is sooo sad! They're probably worth a ton right now.

Her baby papasan chair is assembled and ready to go. Now we have to put together her papasan swing....

Her crib set is soooo gorgeous! I am totally in love with it. However, I was so disappointed when I found out at a recent baby class that the medical society is discouraging parents from using bumpers in the crib in fear of SIDS. I had never heard of that issue until we took this baby class. I'm going to check with our pediatrician but when she starts using her crib I'm going to have to remove that beautiful bumper! Well till then, I can still leave it in there and admire it. It's such a bad news because if I had known that, I wouldn't have spent all that $$$ on that set! I'm sure there were bedding in the same color palette I could have chosen from knowing this info! Oh well it's still awesome for me to look at.

Week 35

Okay, going on week 35 now...5 more weeks to go! I'm kind of slouching in the picture above just so I could fit my whole body in the frame...look how big I am! I also had a doctor's appointment this morning and now I'm going to be seeing my OBGYN every week now unil the little one pops out. I also started going to a prenatal yoga class since going to the gym is getting harder and harder. I can barely walk or be on the elliptical machine for more than 2o minutes before my back starts to give out. Actually the yoga class was really helpful and hopefully I can squeeze in more classes over the next few weeks. My mom and I also did a little shopping today and I got some super cute clothes for the little one and some really great toys. I hope she's a girl because her closet is totally rockin'! Tomorrow Ben and I are going on a hospital tour and then we have two classes the rest of the week. It's going to get a little nuts!

The Last Hurrah....

One last "vacation" before our little one arrives in 5 weeks. I was so excited to be healthy and fit enough to make the trip to Hawaii. I was looking forward to it for awhile. We love Hawaii (hence the Hawaii themed baby shower). This is Ben and I at the black sand beach in southern part of the Big Island (above). I did a pretty good job of hiding how big my belly is here in this shot!

This was a scenic overview a few miles from where we stayed. The sun is going down... We had just gotten back from a day at Hapuna Beach (gorgeous!). It's been a few hours but my bathing suit was still wet. Ben noticed that I had a tan line going across my belly from where the tankini stopped and the belly began. It's actually pretty funny.

This is the view from our place on the Big Island. We were right on the ocean...we can walk down the steps of the house onto the rocks and water. The water was so clear that we could see the fish from our balcony. In the mornings there would be a huge school of dolphins swimming close by. One day they were all doing flips and twists in the air. They are sooo beautiful! Too bad they were too far away for the camera to capture clearly.

Testing Out the Stroller

We were bored on Saturday and decided to put together the baby's stroller. Today we thought it would be fun to use Ozzie as a test baby and see if he would like it. We stuck his bed in the stroller and sat him in it. The bed actually looked super comfy. Then we wheeled him around the house. We think he liked it! When we took his bed out of the stroller and put it on the ground, Ozzie jumped in the bed again and looked at us as if to say, "Come on, let's go again!" It was super cute!!! We could probably wheel him around the neighborhood!

The Belly

I was bored today and decided to update the blog with a picture of my belly. I didn't notice that my shirt was kind of see through! I had already went to the hair salon and Target so ooops. Anyhow...the belly is definetely growing. She's a little kicker and it doesn't matter what time of day. She moves all over the place. Her favorite place to hang out is right up against my right rib cage. I chopped off several inches of my hair today, like 6" or so and it feels great! I am hoping to squeeze in one last appointment before the due date but I have no idea if that's going to be possible. 7 more weeks until we meet the little one!
