Baby Room Part 3

Okay, I'm going to admit that I'm insanely biased but wow, our baby room looks SOOO good that it belongs in a magazine! This isn't even the finished product yet! Ben and I put up the wallpaper border today and it was a little tough but the result was absolutely awesome. Ben says that the room looks like a piece of cake, literally looks like dessert. It's such a beautiful room! Talk about gender neutral. I swear, watching all those hours of HGTV really pays off! We still have a few pieces of furniture to pick up and some wall decorations to hang. I'm still contemplating on doing window treatments but somehow I managed to have the colors match our blinds without even thinking about it. This room is GORGEOUS!

Another New Bayani Family Member

This is our newest family member, our niece Amelia Yuna Bayani who was born last month in May. She looks like her older brother Justin when he was born. Amelia is going to be 4-5 months older than our little girl which is pretty cool since they're going to be the same age! They're going to have to be pen pals for awhile though since Amelia lives in Tokyo. It's been a busy year for the Golden Pigs! Lucky lucky girls!

Baby Room Part 2

Day 2 of Cindy and Lee's baby room prepping. They woke up and added a second coat of paint to the room while Ben and I visited the gym. Thanks guys!!! The room looks fantastic! Excellent paint work! Ben and I will give the room a week to dry and put up the border this upcoming weekend. After all the walls are done, we're going on to the decorating!

Baby Room Part 1

Here are baby's family painting and prepping her room. Aunt Cindy and Lee came up from San Luis just to help out. I was banned from the room but I managed to squeeze in some help here and there but eventually got kicked out. I even bought the lease toxic paint I could find! They room was finished pretty quickly but the second coat needs to go on tonight. You can kind of see in Ben's picture that her closet is starting to materialize with clothes! We're so excited to see the finished product!

Week 22, 2nd Peek!

Today Ben and I went for our 2nd ultrasound for our little GIRL! Our ultrasound tech Cindy confirmed it again that she is still a she. Oh good! I had already started to buy little outfits here and there. Cindy and I went shopping 2 weekends ago and picked out 4 little Ralph Lauren outfits for various months. They were super cute! She's going to be super stylish! So according to today's ultrasound, she is right on track and is still due on September 23rd. She has been moving a bunch though! In the pictures you can see her hands and feet. She has been moving around so much that I don't doubt what I'm feeling in my stomach. At first I couldn't be sure but as each day goes on, I have no doubt that she's partying in there. She now weighs 1.1 lbs. I have gained a total of 7 lbs since I got pregnant. Well I lost 3-4 lbs during my first trimester so I've gained that back plus 3 more.

For my little wonder, instead of putting together a playlist of classical music for her to listen while she's in my tummy, we're putting together our rock/alternative compilation full of Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Good Charlotte, and a bunch of others. We realized that when she comes out she will want something familiar to listen to and when I'm not listening to news radio, that's the next best thing. Honestly, do I really want to expose her to Bill O'Reilly just yet? Since when do I listen to Mozart in the car?! Don't kid yourself! We don't want to be parents that believe that listening to Mozart will sway her to become a genius... we want her to comfortable with our everyday lives. Say hello to my little ROCK STAR!

Work and Babies...

I am still contemplating on the "returning to work" dilemma. I have more and more reason to feel that my current job would be way too stressful for me to do both. One thing I have found that I do quite frequently, like "daily" is that I dream and think about work constantly. When I was at Mervyn's I never felt like that. The stress that came from Meryn's was purely commute related. So now that I don't have the commute stress, regular work stress replaces it. I used to have such a specific job function that it was easy for me to do but now, being a buyer at a relatively small company, the job duties are so scattered. There is no organization whats so ever. In the last 3 companies I've worked for, I've had really great bosses who never questioned my work ethic. But now I am in a situation where it's new to me where someone questions my reason for even taking a personal day. It's actually very interesting...not in a good way. I've been a manager before and I've always treated my associates with respect, especially with their personal lives because I know that if they are satisfied with their personal lives, they perform much better at work because that stress is taken away. So I am confused with my current boss's management style. How sad. Anyhow, if I have such a difficult time asking for personal day, imagine having to leave work for my child? That's going to be extremely fun...(sarcasm!).

And 20 weeks later...

Today I had my 20 week check up. One of the wierdest questions that I asked my doctor today was how to convert pregnancy weeks into pregnany months. I mean you would think that it was a simple task but 9 months does not really equal 40 weeks to most people. In the end she told me to basically divide out the weeks by 9 so I guess we can roughly say that each pregnany month has 4.44 weeks... Both me and our nameless little girl are healthy. I actually have been feeling pretty good except for this annoying congestion! I already have allergies AND to have pregnancy congestion on top of that, why don't I just stop breathing all together?! It's been hard to sleep at night, I hate dry mouth! I always have that disgusting fear of a spider finding it's way in there....eewwww gross! In 2 weeks I have another ultrasound schedueled so I guess I can be doubly sure that our little girl IS a little girl.

Names! Ben and I have been stumped on naming this little one. We thought we had it down pretty good but then we started to doubt and explore other names. I mean, which name sounds like it a good fit with ours? Nothing too drab but nothing too trendy. Ben has been keeping a running list in his office where we post names we both like, trust me, the list is 3 names long! Well 4 more months to figure this out!

I have been debating on whether or not I will return to work after the baby is born. Frankly, I have been leaning on not going back. I have had discussions with Ben, my mom, and my friends. I have always thought that at least one parent should be there for the child when she's growing up. I mean why do both parents have to miss out on her childhood? There will always be work waiting but the time that passes for a little girl can never be reclaimed. So I have to think about what I feel is valuable. I do want to be home and be with my little girl. I want to be there for every little thing that happens. I think that Ben and I are completely successful when we decide something and go for it. On that thought...it's our 3 year wedding anniversary tomorrow!
