Water Toys!

We finally had a break in the weather and was able to spend some time in the backyard. Friday after work I picked up a water table for Izzy because I knew how much she loved playing with water.

She had no problem with how cold the water was and spent the time doing her best to empty her table of water.

Tupperware makes the best toys.
Izzy's Gap ad. I think her entire outfit came from the Gap. This is the reason why I can't stop buying her clothes. She's way too cute in anything I put her in.

Learning is Messy!

Isabel is at the age where she has to feed herself. She's growing more and more independent everyday. Here are some pictures of her "freedom". ABC pasta landed in her hair...

I didn't realize that chocoloate pudding could be so disastrous...

But yes... someone thoroughly enjoyed herself!

Wolverine Went to a Birthday Party

Isabel was invited to her second birthday party (first one was Lexy's 2nd birthday) and this one had a theme - Superheroes! Since there aren't really any great female superheroes I could think of, I went back to the day Auntie Cindy did her hair for crazy hair day and used that as my idea for Wolverine. She made the PERFECT little Wolverine! I hand sewed her costume (no sewing machine!) and spend less than $10 on materials. It took awhile but it was so worth it. The costume fit her perfectly!

Wolverine did not want to go into the bouncer for the first hour but of course once mommy was inside, she had a blast! Daddy then threw her into the ball pit which freaked her out.

Wolverine is eyeing an Elmo balloon....

Did I mention that she did win best costume for girls? Yay! Thanks to Gavin for having a birthday party, it was so much fun!

Banana phone

Ever since Isabel has had an obsession with cell phones or phones in general, everything has become a phone! She'll hold up everything from remote controls to bananas and think she's talking on the phone.

Isabel is turning 1.5 years old on Sunday. How quickly time flies! I can't believe that baby #2 will be here before she turns 2.

Pregnancy update: I'm getting bigger and it's true what they say that the 2nd time around your body "remembers" and it just gets bigger faster. I feel much bigger than I was last time. I'm not heavier, just bigger! My clothes are definitely not fitting right now and it sucks! I don't want to buy and maternity clothing. I found my maternity clothes from the first pregnancy and I couldn't be more appalled at my fashion choices. Some of those pants from the Gap are just ridiculously large. I'm sticking to loose tops and two pairs of my favorite Sevens and those will be what I'll be living in. Maternity clothes are just so awful. What I learned, just buy a couple pairs of really nice jeans at a Pea and a Pod and spend the rest at Forever 21 with some cheap tops.

Salty and Sweet

We were craving some McDonald's one night and made a run through the drive thru. I was trying to hid the bag of friend and my cone from her in the back seat but Isabel caught me.

Interestingly enough, her appetite isn't very picky. She knows what fries and ice cream are so it's not gross for her to combine the two. I guess that's a good thing.

She's been talking up a storm the last few weeks and can imitate us really well. We really have to be careful in what we say around her. She knows a lot of words. Her favorite word right now is "owl". During Xmas, I had an owl sitting in the tree so everytime she sees trees, she points and says "owl". It's super cute. So far she's able to understand both English and Mandarin and doesn't seem to be confused at all.

Baby Loves Disco

On Saturday, our parents group had a meet up event at Baby Loves Disco at the Avalon Nightclub. It's actually a night club that hosts baby dancing events during the day and at night turns into a real club. They have a DJ that spins disco music and bubble machines for the kids on the dance floor. Isabel was a little stunned in the beginning because there were so many little kids. She just wanted to sit there and observe them. She finally warmed up to the dance floor when she saw all the bubbles.

Here is my little cutie looking her finest! It was a Valentine's Day theme party and I thought it was too cold to wear a dress. Plus, she just looks too cute in her popped collar polo anyway. The venue had all sorts of snacks and toys for the kids. Tons of balloons and giveaways. I thought it was very well put together. Admissions was a little steep at $12 per person but there was a huge turn out so it must not bothered that many people. I think she'll like it more as she gets older. Too bad they didn't play the Wiggles or else she'd really go nuts.

Elmo was at the party and I didn't notice this until after we took pictures that this is the freakiest looking Elmo I'd ever seen. UGH yea.... Someone really ought to work on the costume a bit more...

Random picture of her bad hair day. I think she even has cookie crumbs all over her mouth.

It's a GIRL!

Today was the day we were waiting for! It's my favorite appointment of all the ob appointments during the pregnancy. My ultrasound tech Cindy is seriously one of the NICEST people I've ever met and she makes you feel like you've been friends forever. Anyhow, at 4pm today, she told Ben and I that we were having a girl! "No little boy parts here," she said. So now, Izzy will have a little sister who can either drive her nuts or become her best friend. Now Ben and Ozzie are outnumbered so maybe we're going to have to get another boy schnauzer just to even the playing field. I'm so excited to know that I will not have to buy a single thing or even have baby shower. If we were having a boy, I would have considered having another baby shower but now we don't need to. I'm also excited that the girls can share a room and even a bunk bed when they get older. How fun! I remember how fun it was for Cindy and I when we first got our bunk bed. It was like a our own fort. Now it will all come down to names and that's the hardest part of all. I'm half way through the pregnancy and I can't wait!
