Lake Elizabeth

A few weekends ago, we headed up to meet our friends Mike, Ai, and Hannah for an outing at Lake Elizabeth. It was the first warm day after all the rain we had been having. It was so nice to just get outdoors. Even I have to admit that it was just nice having Isabel and Ozzie enjoy the warm weather.

Izzy loves being chased around and I'm trying to be as mobile as I possibly can... I wish Ozzie would chase her and wear her out that way but Ozzie is too much of an independent spirit and needs his own space.

One of her favorite summer toys is the bubble wand and she picked up how to blow bubbles that day. She tries for awhile and gets a few but in the end, the wand ends up in her mouth along with all the bubble solution. One of the parents in my group told me that bubble solution is a stool softener... Hmmm....

I was looking over the pictures from that day and there were a lot of shots of Izzy eating. There was always a cookie or a strawberry, or something she was eating. The funny thing is, she doesn't eat all that much during regular meal times. She's a big snacker! She knows exactly where the cookies and popsicles are in the house. Oh the little one knows the difference between Cheerios and Cinammon Toast Crunch. On her last check up, she was only in the 10% percentile for weight but 90% for her head size. She's a smart skinny baby! I was super skinny when I was a toddler so I don't think it's too bad that she's thin. I am a firm believer that kids will eat when they're hungry and not to force them to eat. Although sometimes it does make me mad that she doesn't eat, I just have to realize that she will not starve herself. She's too smart for that. Another recent developmental milestone, my sweet little girl has learned how to throw tantrums. I did get by without them for awhile but now, they pop out of nowhere. We ignore her as much as possible when she has one but she gets even more angry. Oh the joys on entering the terrible twos.

Bunny Fun Hunt

This morning we had a meet up event in Los Gatos for the annual Bunny Fun Hunt. Although Izzy had a little bit of practice from the egg hunt at Catherine's house, she was still mesmerized at what was going on. She was too busy watching everyone else pick up eggs.

There were a TON of families there and we got there just in time to find good parking. They had pony rides, a petting zoo, and games. She was a little young for all the other events but the egg hunt was enough to wear her out.

Daddy helping gather eggs...
Finally a picture where she looked at the camera! Eventually she saw me peel open a chocolate egg and all she wanted to do the rest of the time was peel the foil off the eggs.

Egg Hunt Playdate

Last week I took some time off from work and made my way to Dublin for a playdate at Catherine's house. It was Izzy's first egg hunt. Catherine did a great job face painting the kids. We also met the newest member of the Hernandez family, Sonny!

Izzy didn't really understand the concept of egg gatherine but Thomas and Lexy were really nice and helped put eggs in her basket.
It was a beautiful day and we're really happy that Catherine invited us over!

Water Toys!

We finally had a break in the weather and was able to spend some time in the backyard. Friday after work I picked up a water table for Izzy because I knew how much she loved playing with water.

She had no problem with how cold the water was and spent the time doing her best to empty her table of water.

Tupperware makes the best toys.
Izzy's Gap ad. I think her entire outfit came from the Gap. This is the reason why I can't stop buying her clothes. She's way too cute in anything I put her in.

Learning is Messy!

Isabel is at the age where she has to feed herself. She's growing more and more independent everyday. Here are some pictures of her "freedom". ABC pasta landed in her hair...

I didn't realize that chocoloate pudding could be so disastrous...

But yes... someone thoroughly enjoyed herself!

Wolverine Went to a Birthday Party

Isabel was invited to her second birthday party (first one was Lexy's 2nd birthday) and this one had a theme - Superheroes! Since there aren't really any great female superheroes I could think of, I went back to the day Auntie Cindy did her hair for crazy hair day and used that as my idea for Wolverine. She made the PERFECT little Wolverine! I hand sewed her costume (no sewing machine!) and spend less than $10 on materials. It took awhile but it was so worth it. The costume fit her perfectly!

Wolverine did not want to go into the bouncer for the first hour but of course once mommy was inside, she had a blast! Daddy then threw her into the ball pit which freaked her out.

Wolverine is eyeing an Elmo balloon....

Did I mention that she did win best costume for girls? Yay! Thanks to Gavin for having a birthday party, it was so much fun!
