Picnic At the Park

On Sunday our parents group had a huge picnic at a local Los Gatos park. The turnout was amazing. Izzy had so much fun on the slides and swings. Normally she wouldn't go up and down by herself but for some reason she did fine.

Izzy and daddy on the swings. Everytime Ben swings her I freak out because I swear he goes so high up with her. I always think she's going to fall out.

Down the big slide!
With a big smile!

More Hawaii PIcs

This I thought was a funny picture when all of us were showing Izzy a plane that was flying bye. She can say a lot of words, one of them being "airplane". Jessica asked where my belly pictures were and this one you get a good profile of it.

Izzy hardly ever wears dresses or barrettes in her hair so finally we got the chance to while on our trip.

Izzy and daddy looking at something...

So yes, she does have a black eye but in this picture it's not as bad as it looks. It looks WAY, WAY worse in person. On Wednesday, she decided it would be fun to climb on her stroller and stand on the seat backwards. Of course the whole thing tipped and she fell. Ground meet Isabel, ground wins. She wasn't upset until I freaked out on her. So it was huge and bruised with a burn on top of it. It was nasty. So after we had iced it and she felt better, she went straight back for the stroller again. It's been over a week now and it's fading but you can still see the black and purple bruise.

Hawaii 2009

Our family is very much in love with Hawaii. Isabel is not even 2 and she's already been there three times. Once in my belly, once when she was 10 months old and just this past week at 20 months old. Hawaii is the perfect location for families with young children and it's
so easy for everyone to have fun without much of a hassle.

We stayed at our timeshare at Ko Olina. Ko Olina has these really great man made lagoons that are perfect for kids. Here is a rare family photo that Aunt Cindy took while we were outside barbecuing.

I hate swimming but seeing how much fun Izzy was having with daddy made me go into the water. She loves swimming and playing in water. It's also a great way to tire her out and get a good night's sleep.

Here is daddy and Isabel walking along the beach in front of a lagoon. She had a lot of fun in the sand. It was so hard to leave Hawaii. It's just so relaxing and easy. We never had any plans and just went with the flow the whole time. The weather was perfect! Our last family vacation before things get REALLY crazy.

Lake Elizabeth

A few weekends ago, we headed up to meet our friends Mike, Ai, and Hannah for an outing at Lake Elizabeth. It was the first warm day after all the rain we had been having. It was so nice to just get outdoors. Even I have to admit that it was just nice having Isabel and Ozzie enjoy the warm weather.

Izzy loves being chased around and I'm trying to be as mobile as I possibly can... I wish Ozzie would chase her and wear her out that way but Ozzie is too much of an independent spirit and needs his own space.

One of her favorite summer toys is the bubble wand and she picked up how to blow bubbles that day. She tries for awhile and gets a few but in the end, the wand ends up in her mouth along with all the bubble solution. One of the parents in my group told me that bubble solution is a stool softener... Hmmm....

I was looking over the pictures from that day and there were a lot of shots of Izzy eating. There was always a cookie or a strawberry, or something she was eating. The funny thing is, she doesn't eat all that much during regular meal times. She's a big snacker! She knows exactly where the cookies and popsicles are in the house. Oh the little one knows the difference between Cheerios and Cinammon Toast Crunch. On her last check up, she was only in the 10% percentile for weight but 90% for her head size. She's a smart skinny baby! I was super skinny when I was a toddler so I don't think it's too bad that she's thin. I am a firm believer that kids will eat when they're hungry and not to force them to eat. Although sometimes it does make me mad that she doesn't eat, I just have to realize that she will not starve herself. She's too smart for that. Another recent developmental milestone, my sweet little girl has learned how to throw tantrums. I did get by without them for awhile but now, they pop out of nowhere. We ignore her as much as possible when she has one but she gets even more angry. Oh the joys on entering the terrible twos.

Bunny Fun Hunt

This morning we had a meet up event in Los Gatos for the annual Bunny Fun Hunt. Although Izzy had a little bit of practice from the egg hunt at Catherine's house, she was still mesmerized at what was going on. She was too busy watching everyone else pick up eggs.

There were a TON of families there and we got there just in time to find good parking. They had pony rides, a petting zoo, and games. She was a little young for all the other events but the egg hunt was enough to wear her out.

Daddy helping gather eggs...
Finally a picture where she looked at the camera! Eventually she saw me peel open a chocolate egg and all she wanted to do the rest of the time was peel the foil off the eggs.

Egg Hunt Playdate

Last week I took some time off from work and made my way to Dublin for a playdate at Catherine's house. It was Izzy's first egg hunt. Catherine did a great job face painting the kids. We also met the newest member of the Hernandez family, Sonny!

Izzy didn't really understand the concept of egg gatherine but Thomas and Lexy were really nice and helped put eggs in her basket.
It was a beautiful day and we're really happy that Catherine invited us over!
